The Art Car Museum is a private contemporary art museum located in Houston, Texas. The museum dubbed the “Garage Mahal,” first opened its doors in February 1998. It focuses on art cars, fine arts, and artists who are not commonly seen in other cultural institutions. The mission of the museum is to raise awareness of the political, economic, and personal dimensions of art.

Ann Harithas, an artist and long-time supporter of the Art Car movement, and James Harithas, former director of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and the Station Museum in Houston, Texas, founded the museum.
